Drone strikes at Pakistan a nice payback by the universal justice

Pakistan has been sending terrorists to strike at the civilians in Indian side of Kashmir at the North Western Border and calls them indigenous separatists. Those so called "separatist militants" who enter the Indian side of Kashmir by Pakistani help are nothing but equivalent of "human drones". They are trained by ISI and Pakistan military. They are controlled by Pakistani intelligence remotely through wireless communication. They strike mostly at the civilian targets identified to them by Pakistani military. There is no open war and Pakistan even talk about peace and friendship.

USA does not engage in open war with Pakistan. Pakistan is an off and on ally of USA (NATO). USA sends unmanned flying cannons to the North Western Border (same North Western Border is it coincidence or justice of the universe) of Pakistan. The drones attack military targets (not intentionally targeting civilians) identified by CIA. The flying drones are also controlled by wireless communication.

Pakistan does not have the means to retaliate instead they cry foul for violation of their sovereignty. India sends army to retaliate and kill the terrorists and so do not cry like baby for the violation of sovereign rights of Indians. The violators get the message without the leaders crying like a baby. Such nice example of "tit for tat" or "as you sow so you reap". It shows that the universe knows how to distribute the fruits of one's actions.

Manmani Singh

Dr. Manmohan Singh has shamelessly defended his complicity in suffocating the democratic rights of Mr. Anna Hazare to protest peacefully by becoming silent spectator to the violation of civic rights of individuals by Delhi police. He read about a 4 page statement. I think that an intellectual person of his caliber could have just stated that "On August 16th I changed my name to Manmaani Singh." For those, who do not understand hindi, "Manmaani" means the act of doing doing things at one's whims without any care or consideration of consequences to others.

I cannot fathom that a PhD degree holder could be so inefficient in expressing the primary message during his statement in the parliament of India.

Obama Drama

This year is heading for a dramatic new year with a new face as the executive head of US presidency sailing amidst fire works of new year in the White House harbor. This will be the climax of the election drama. Need less to say that this is going to be the most publicized reality show of the year. It's like a iron-shef competition of food-network. The main ingredient seems to be the economy. The other ingredients are problems like terrorism, jobloss, healthcare, college tuition, energy independence and the war in Iraq. The contenders along with their assistants are supposed to make dishes in this case called policies. Unlike iron-shef in this contest the menu is already served in their speech at the conventions by each contender. Also in this case the judges are served the dishes in such a way that each candidate serve one or more item at a time not like iron-shef where each shef serves the complete course before the other shef. The other addition to the rules of the game is that the contestants can sneak in and try spoil the dish of the other candidate by mixing hallucinatory substance in their dish such that the judges can get their taste buds jammed or can have hallucinations.

If any one out there did not get what is the connection in this metaphoric realty show here are the hints. The menu is the list of major policies touted by each candidate like, economic policy, foreign policy, etc. I watched the the video clipping of the speech by Sen. Barack Obama during the Democratic National Convention in youtube.com. The theme of the menu was the union between a man from Kenya and a woman from US believing in the American Dream and then how the dream seems hazy under the republican rule of recent past and which John Mccain is part of. The next part of the theme was how the past was beautiful and rosy for the working class people and which is the dream democratic party is aiming to bring to reality. The theme description ended with aim to bring the days of milk and honey flowing through the promiseland back. Next was how the judges should expect the dishes to taste like through the examples of Mr. Obama and his family members. The appetizer was served then as the promise of tax break, then the entres were served as energy policy, education policy etc. Then it was the hot and spicy dishes of policies of fighting terrorism and war in Iraq. The dessert was then served as making America the land of promise. In between, the dishes were peppered with John Mccain mistakes.

As I am writing the Republican National Convention is going on. I heard bits and pieces of Gov. Palin's speech in public radio this morning. Her speech was full of candy flies like remarks and comments evoking mirth and hilarity in the crowd but her attacks on Obama seemed more like a jamming technique. She used quotes as "some people use change to promote their career and people like John Mccain use career to promote change" or used broken piece of Mr. Obama's speech to indicate that he calls rural people gun slingers or "he authored two memoirs but not a single legislature". Those were not solid evidence of any substantiated actions. Never a single person writes a whole legislature, so why blame Sen. Obama alone? Mr. Obama was a better decision maker than John Mccain when it came to vote the legislation on war on Iraq. Mr. Obama was correct when he called for a sixteen month withdrawal plan from Iraq, where Maccain insisted on more troops. The Palin speech seemed more like Chris Rock laughter show, hope Sen. Mccain does a better job today. It seems Sen. Mccain has chosen a very good cheer leader woman as veep for his presidential show. He should put up a speech with substance to meet the raised expectation by the charming cheer leader veep. By the way I believe that cheer leader can create an ephemeral illusion and the end of the game decides who was the real hero.

I hope and pray the judges, the people of USA are provided the antidotes of wisdom and providence to make the right decision in their third attempt to decide their own future by using their voting rights.

Just Bundle of Choices

I was watching the movie "Spiderman 3" last week. The movie ended with the message that Every human being has more than one choice and every human being is the collection of choices that defines that person. Even though the message is inspiring and moving specially after the brilliant success of the man in the disguise of a red costume with spider web painted on the costume. Can any ordinary person become a bill gate or a Edmond Hillary in real life? Probably not. Then what was this message for? Is it just hollow inspiration? On second thought, I realized that choices here is not goals but choices stand for the path to the goals. Then why didn't the movie mention about the goal? Is the core of the movie is to show available choices to the goal of survival and glimpses of possible out comes based on the choices? I don't know for sure what idea was the pillar of the movie, definitely part of it was about choices one makes in life. So, we are just bundle of choices for bunch of goals that we choose. So, in fact, the choice factor is prevalent for choosing goals as well. So, truly every person is just bundle of choices of goals and paths to the goals.

My Take on Music and Arts

Music has a lot of pros. Is there no cons? Musicians make better programmer , people with experience of music have displayed better performance in tests compared to people without experience in music, music soothes mind, reduces heartbeat, relaxes muscles from tension and anxiety and so on. What about musicians and poets and composers indulging into drinking and adultery. Tyrant kings and emperors have demonstrated expertise in music. Roman emperor Nero still is a lively example. So, the benefits attached to music needs to be investigated for their correlation to music. Are those benefits unique to music only? Let’s look at this situation, a football coach does a lot of brain activities as music makes one to do, a gymnast does a lot activities in planning his or her moves during a performance and practice, a martial artist practices a lot of brain activities during practice for hand to hand combat. Has a survey been done with one group trained in gymnastics, another group trained in kungfu and another group trained in music about how they perform on tests? After those surveys only one can associate the improved performance in science and math by people with experience in music, uniquely to music. It is well known human beings could use only thirty percent of their brain capacity in terms of the number of neurons. It could just be the extra brain activity stimulates more and more neurons into action as does physical workout does to biceps and triceps and other body muscles. This extra capacity when deployed for one focused goal could be the reason for better performance in math and science than people with the extra available active neurons.

Soothing, better immunity and other health benefits due to music has to be revisited in light of this survey results I heard in NPR. Patients with arthritis showed better results by acupuncture treatment and placebo acupuncture treatment than conventional medication. The better result by phony acupuncture treatment is probably due to faith in the name of acupuncture and belief that acupuncture will cure arthritis. That probably emphasizes the fact that laughter therapy can work. So, the source of improved health performance is most likely the mind or subconscious mind. Music may induce a feeling of euphoria in the mind of person if he or she likes that music and believes that some special type of music makes elevates his or her mind would most likely get the health benefits. So, music might as well be one of the stimulants like the name acupuncture to produce health benefits through the work of mind. Playing chess or doing gymnastics or practicing kungfu might produce better math and science performance.

Performance vs Effort

Present day world is driven by performance based reward. So, it becomes quite important to understand what is the difference between performance and effort. It is very common that putting effort is equivalent as to perform. I will write a famous quote, by an author I do not know the name, "Think before you act and don't think after it is done".

The context here is about performance and effort. Thinking can be compared to effort and performance can be compared to action. If one acts out of impulse and does a lot of thinking and acts indecisively is one who has put a lot of effort but did not perform. On the other hand a person who puts same amount of effort as the one who did not perform but did not act until the person was confident of the consequences of the action will perform better. So, performance requires effort but in proper sequence.

India's Father of Nation

So, called father of India M.K.Gandhi is becoming more and more popular every day. Dr.Martin Luther King Jr. claimed to have followed the Gandhism idea. No offense to Dr. King Jr. but in my view Dr. King is much more truthful in his pursuit of civil rights movement than Gandhi was. Gandhi's main punch line was "Sathyagraha (sounds like Saw-thyaa-graw-haw"). This sanskrit word is derived from two other sanskrit words "Sathya sounds like (Saw-thya)" meaning truth and "Aagraha (sounds like aa-graw-haw)" meaning interest. Together "Sathya-agraha" or "Sathyagraha" means pursue of truth. And the path of nonviolence was just a derivative of this philosophy. The truth is that violence produce more violence, so the way to counter violence is to avoid negative emotions. Violence is a negative emotion. So as a pursuer of truth one can protest but should not resort to violence.
In my view, first of all, one should not lie if that person is a pursuer of truth. Gandhi lied in two fronts. One lie was literally a lie. British administration schemed to divide India into India and Pakistan, when the freedom of India was inevitable. On the morning of penultimate day, Gandhi declared that India would be divided over his dead body but in the evening he gave the statement that division of India was unavoidable. If Gandhi was pursuer of truth then he should have been dead before acceding to the division of India. To verify this fact search the google for the biography of Moulana Abul kalam Azad and look at the part, division of India.
Another front is Equal treatment of all religion, preached by Gandhi . Indira Nehru, the daughter of free India's first prime minister, Jawaharlal (sounds like Jaw-vaa-hawr-laal) Nehru, married to a person with first name Firoz. Firoz is a persian name and in some cases could be a muslim name too. Any way it is obvious Mr. Firoz was not a hindu where as Mr. Nehru was a hindu and a brahmin (the highest caste in Hindu religion). Now the story, I heard is that Mr.Nehru was afraid of losing the support of conservative hindus and specifically brahmins for this act of his daughter, Indira. Mr. Nehru approached Gandhi to get a solution and Gandhi adopted Mr.Firoz as foster son or god son whatever and bestowed the last name Gandhi to Mr. Firoz. Then Mr.Firoz lost his original religion, may it be zorastrian or islam, in public and became a hindu. I say lost his original religion in public because Mr.Firoz could have easily pursued his birth religion in private. Does it not tantamount to a lie in public for Gandhi who preached equal treatment of all religion. Why a person should bow down to fanatic hindus and impose a religious conversion of a person if that person pursues the philosophy of equal treatment of religion. May be in reality Gandhi did not force the person to practice hinduism but what he did in public was a lie. So, it was a lie by any means.

Moreover what Gandhi preached was already preached by Jesus Christ and his twelve apostles. Was Gandhi more near to God or Jesus Christ than the twelve apostles of Jesus Christ. I don't think that is true. Then what is the need of the western world, which is majority Christian to know Christianity in a new package, packaged by Gandhi. Gandhi any way did not live by truth.

Gandhi was a confused person and tried to mix politics and religion and could understand either of them correctly. So, if that person can be father of India than I will be ashamed to call myself Indian. I hereby disown Gandhi as father of Nation of India.

I found this nice piece of article (http://www.blogs.ivarta.com/india-usa-blog-column35.htm) by Dr. Dipak Basu, which brings to light the real main reason for freedom of India.
